¿Cómo reporto un bache o una falla de alumbrado público?

Use the Report an Issue form. Most non-emergency issues receive an acknowledgment within one (1) business day. You will receive a tracking ID (e.g., SR-2026-001234) so you can reference your request.

¿La Ciudad ofrece interpretación de idiomas?

Yes. Spanish interpretation is available at all public meetings with 48 hours’ notice. Additional languages can typically be arranged with 5 business days’ notice. Submit an ADA & Language Accommodation Request to get started.

¿Cómo solicito registros públicos?

Use the Public Records Request form. You will receive a tracking ID and an initial response within the statutory deadline (10 calendar days in California). There is no charge to inspect records; copying charges are $0.10/page.

Permits & Planning

¿Necesito un permiso para instalar una cerca?

A permit is required for fences taller than 6 feet or any fence in the front yard setback. Fences on corner lots or near driveways are subject to additional sight-distance requirements. See the Planning Division fence handout for diagrams.

Simple residential alterations (e.g., water-heater replacements, re-roofs) are typically issued over-the-counter. Standard additions and remodels take 4–6 weeks for plan review. Complex projects requiring Planning Commission review may take 3–4 months.

Trash & Recycling

¿Cuándo es mi día de recolección?

Collection days vary by neighborhood. Enter your address in the online lookup tool on the Trash & Recycling page to see your schedule. Collection is not delayed for most holidays except New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

¿Cómo me deshago de artículos grandes, pintura o electrónicos?

Residents are entitled to two (2) free bulky-item pickups per year; schedule at least five (5) business days in advance. Household hazardous waste (paint, chemicals, batteries) and e-waste (TVs, computers) are accepted free at the County HHW facility every second Saturday.

Utilities & Billing

¿Cómo pago mi factura de agua?

You can pay online at the resident portal, by automatic monthly draft, by phone at (555) 742-8100, or in person at City Hall (50 Main Street). The City does not charge a convenience fee for online payments.

¿Qué sucede si no realizo un pago?

Accounts become delinquent after 25 days. A $15 late fee is assessed at day 30. Service may be disconnected after day 45 following written notice. If you are experiencing hardship, please call the Utilities Customer Service line at (555) 742-8100 to discuss payment arrangements before service is disconnected.

¿Cómo inicio o detengo el servicio en una nueva dirección?

Submit a Service Start/Stop form at least three (3) business days before your move-in or move-out date. Forms are available online or at City Hall. A $35 new-account deposit may apply depending on credit history.
